After bouncing around in a few cities, I am pleased to say that I have called the City of Angels my home for nearly seven years now. There is so much that this city has to offer: from gorgeous beaches to one of the hottest nightlife scenes, and as a “foodie” I especially love all of the great dining spots. LA is a fantastic city. And when I’m driving across town during rush hour there is plenty of time for me to ponder the oh so many reasons why I adore this town.

A true Midwesterner, I grew up in northwest Ohio and loved being raised in such a small community. But, once my mother moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, I decided I had also done my time dealing with the snow and promptly headed west to scenic Arizona. While the Valley of the Sun is breathtaking, the summers there can be in excess of 120° and yes, you can literally fry an egg on the pavement. Climate aside, I had an absolutely amazing time at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Telecommunications and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. From there, I began my career in television in the local Phoenix market. However, working in news is a certain beast and even though I loved production, it wasn’t my forte. And once again, I was more than ready for a temperature change of a more moderate variety.

On New Years Eve 2000, I packed up and powered on to a new destination: Hollywood, California. I had some money … not a lot … but enough for a little while and I didn’t have a job lined up. There was zero doubt in my mind I would make it as a producer. It took me about six months, but then, I was offered three jobs in one week! When it rains, it pours, right? I took a low paying job working in development at the Style Network, and I loved it! I had found my niche. From there, I worked my way up the ladder to Show Producer. I am fortunate to have worked with some extremely talented people while creating compelling content for a variety of networks, like NBC, E! Entertainment, MTV and Showtime, to name a few.

In addition to television, I love producing live events like LA Fashion Week and film festivals. I’m also a huge believer in giving back to the community and volunteer with local organizations. ‘Lifting as we climb’ resonates loudly with me.

When I first learned that Things To Do was opening an LA division and met Greg, I knew this would be an outstanding opportunity for me to utilize my skills as a producer while also providing unique services to Angelenos. From networking and meeting people in a variety of occupations to worldwide travel, or just having a great time locally, I am thrilled to be a part of such an outstanding organization. And it doesn’t hurt that the weather here is fabulous too!
